MARBLE/marble
PROGRESS REPORT
1/15/08
______________________________________________
The following items are in the works for MARBLE/marble. This is an
update just to get you excited.
1. A fundraising letter should be arriving in the mail any day now.
Hugh Littlebury's wife, Karen, volunteered to write it for us. Karen
is a professional copywriter with her own business. We appreciate her
time and talent. Thank you, Karen.
2. Jennifer Stock has set up the yahoo group site for you to
participate in.
3. Hugh Littlebury is writing and applying for a grant on behalf of
MARBLE/marble for a wire saw.
4. A Carbondale architect, Jay Leavitt, has volunteered his services
as a memorial for his deceased brother who participated in the first
two symposiums. Madeline is gathering some information he requested.
5. Charlie Manus, my husband who is an architectural illustrator, has
volunteered to illustrate whatever Jay designs.
6. The goal is to have presentation materials for everyone attending
the symposium this year. They will also be needed for other
presentations Madeline needs to make in obtaining approvals for each
of the projects.
7. The SEPTIC SYSTEM is the most important project of all. It is the
first project that needs to get started as soon as possible after the
snow melt and be completed right away. We are now devoting time and
attention to putting that into motion. It's going to be very
expensive. People have told us we could expect prices in the range of
$22,000 to $36,000. This is the first priority and where we need help.
It's not a very romantic item to donate to, but it's the most
important item right now. We are looking for a local source that has
expertise in proper placement and what the requirements are in Marble,
CO. Volunteer manpower will probably help defray some of those costs.
We will keep you posted.
